Hi, I'm Crystal — founder of Uproot and your personal nutrition assistant.
I've spent 9 years in healthcare, with nearly 4 of those years dedicated to functional medicine. My journey started in western medicine with primary care, then took me through chiropractic care, pain medicine, and hormone replacement therapy — each stop teaching me something new about how the body works and how patients fall through the cracks.
It wasn't until I found functional medicine that the passion truly clicked. Functional medicine looks at the root cause, not just the symptom. That philosophy changed how I see healthcare entirely.
As an Operations and Patient Care Coordinator, I get to see every layer of what it takes to run a practice — from the front-facing patient experience all the way to budgeting and marketing. I understood the clinical side AND the operational side.
And that's exactly how I saw the gap.
